Troy Sports Center back open on the square

A fire that gutted Troy Sports Center on the public square and did smoke and heat damage to several offices on the second and third floors was a month ago, April 30, 2012.

Carol Middleton, the family that owns and operates the sporting goods store hope they are back in their original location in time to celebrate their 25th anniverary in business.

West Milton man charged with rape, bond $100K

Police in West Milton have charged Steven Johnston, 46, with one count of rape.

His cash bond was set at $100,000 during his video arraignment in Miami County Municipal Court Wednesday morning. His arrest came Tuesday night by West Milton Police.

Johnston is back in court for a preliminay hearing on June 7, 2012.

Covington area man jailed on gross sexual imposition

A Covington area man remains in the Miami County jail on two counts of gross sexual imposition.

He is Michael Heaton, 20, of rural Covington.

His arrest came Wednesday night by Miami County deputies.

His alleged victims were two young girls under the age of 13.

His cash bond was set at $10,000 on each charge.

Heaton is back in Miami County Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing on June  7, 2012.
